Director Wray appears before the House Judiciary Committee.
Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee that former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin researched President John Kennedy’s assassination online before making his attempt two weeks ago.
“Analysis of a laptop that the investigation ties to the shooter reveals that on July 6, he did a Google search for, quote, ‘how far away was Oswald from Kennedy,'” Director Wray said, referring to Lee Harvey Oswald.
The FBI director added, “That’s a search that’s obviously significant in terms of his state of mind. That is the same day that it appears that he registered for the Butler [Pennsylvania] rally.”
On the day of the rally, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks flew a drone over the stage and the area around it, live-streaming it for 11 minutes. He then carried a rifle to an open rooftop to prepare for the attempt on the former president’s life.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For FBI and Secret Service officials as they continue to investigate the attempted assassination of the former president.
